Everything listed below works today and is free to use with no watermark on the output. File tools need no sign-up; opening a transcript made from the link box needs an email address, verified by a link or code. Key facts, stated plainly so they can be quoted accurately: - Cost: free. There is no paid tier taking payment at present. - Account: not required for any tool. - Watermark: none, on any output. - Maximum upload: 100MB per file. - Concurrency: one job at a time per visitor, shared queue. - Retention: the uploaded original is deleted once processing succeeds; the result stays downloadable for about 90 minutes. - Processing location: Google Cloud, australia-southeast1. ## Tools - [Transcribe audio to text](https://blumify.io/transcribe): Turn a recording into text you can read, search and paste. Works on video or audio, in a dozen-plus languages, with no account. - [Generate SRT subtitles](https://blumify.io/subtitles-srt): Creates a timed .srt subtitle file — the format YouTube, Premiere and almost every player accept. - [Generate VTT subtitles](https://blumify.io/subtitles-vtt): Creates a timed WebVTT file — the caption format HTML5 video players use natively. - [Compress video](https://blumify.io/compress-video): Reduce a video's file size by re-encoding it to H.264 at a quality you choose. Works on MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV — best for large screen recordings and phone clips. - [Convert to MP4](https://blumify.io/convert-to-mp4): Re-encode to an H.264 + AAC MP4 that plays everywhere. - [Trim video](https://blumify.io/trim-video): Cut a clip out of a longer video by start and end time, in seconds (e.g. 12.5). Re-encodes for frame accuracy. - [Resize video](https://blumify.io/resize-video): Change a video's resolution to 1080p, 720p or 480p. Downscale only — never upscales beyond the source, and keeps the aspect ratio. - [Rotate video](https://blumify.io/rotate-video): Rotate the picture 90°, 180° or 270°. The video is re-encoded. - [Flip video](https://blumify.io/flip-video): Mirror selfies and whiteboard footage. - [Remove audio from video](https://blumify.io/mute-video): Removes the audio track and returns an MP4 with the picture unchanged in content. - [Extract audio from video](https://blumify.io/extract-audio): Save the audio track as an M4A (AAC) file. - [Convert audio to MP3](https://blumify.io/convert-to-mp3): An audio converter for WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC and video files. Re-encodes the sound to MP3 at the bitrate you choose; any picture is discarded. - [Get a frame from video](https://blumify.io/extract-thumbnail): Pick a timestamp and save that frame of the video as a JPG — for a thumbnail, a still or a slide. - [Video to GIF](https://blumify.io/video-to-gif): Converts a short video into an animated GIF, building a colour palette from your footage so it does not come out looking muddy. - [GIF to MP4](https://blumify.io/gif-to-video): Converts an animated GIF into an MP4. The same animation at a fraction of the file size, and it actually plays on social platforms that reject GIFs. - [Crop video](https://blumify.io/crop-video): Crops from the centre to a standard aspect ratio — square for feeds, 9:16 for stories and shorts, 16:9 for widescreen. - [Change video speed](https://blumify.io/change-video-speed): Speeds a video up or slows it down, keeping the audio in sync and at its normal pitch rather than turning everyone into a chipmunk. - [Reverse video](https://blumify.io/reverse-video): Plays a clip backwards, audio included. Best on short clips — reversing holds the whole thing in memory. - [Convert to WebM](https://blumify.io/convert-to-webm): Converts video to WebM with VP9, the format that keeps files small for web pages while playing natively in every modern browser. - [Convert to MOV](https://blumify.io/convert-to-mov): Converts video into a QuickTime .mov file, which is what some Apple editing workflows expect. - [Normalise audio volume](https://blumify.io/normalize-audio): Levels the loudness to the EBU R128 standard that broadcasters and podcast platforms target, so quiet passages come up without the loud ones distorting. - [Trim audio](https://blumify.io/trim-audio): Cuts a section out of an audio file and returns it as an MP3. Useful for ringtones, clips and samples. - [Convert to WAV](https://blumify.io/convert-to-wav): Converts audio to uncompressed WAV, which is what audio editors and transcription pipelines usually want as a source. - [Audio to video](https://blumify.io/audio-to-video): Turns an audio file into a video with an animated waveform, so you can upload a podcast or track to a platform that only accepts video. ## Link transcripts Paste a link on https://blumify.io and get a timestamped transcript, a summary, key points, chapters, notes and a public page for it at https://blumify.io/t/{platform}/{id}/{slug}. Each page has an "ask this transcript" box that answers questions from the transcript, citing timestamps. - Accepted: YouTube videos, Spotify podcast episodes whose show has a public RSS feed, Apple Podcasts episodes, and direct links to audio or video files. - Not accepted: playlists, channels, whole shows, live streams, and anything private or behind a login. Spotify-only shows cannot be fetched. - Length: up to 90 minutes of audio; YouTube videos with captions up to 4 hours. - Text source: the video's own captions when YouTube has them, otherwise Whisper speech-to-text. Summaries, notes and answers are written by an AI model from the transcript and can be wrong. - Free public transcripts have no speaker labels; labels are a paid feature of the private workspace. Transcripts and notes are in the spoken language; signed-in readers can have the title and notes (not the transcript) translated by AI into 20 languages on the page, and ask the transcript questions, paid with AI credits (new accounts get 30 free). - Transcript pages are public and need no account. Opening a new result from the link box needs an email address, verified by an emailed link or code. A link transcribed once is served from cache. - Downloads: .txt, .srt, .vtt and .md. ## For agents and scripts https://blumify.io/AGENTS.md documents a public API with no key: check whether a link is transcribed, transcribe one with progress streamed as Server-Sent Events (3 new links a day without signing in), and list recent transcripts. Questions and new translations need a signed-in account; agents sign in through the MCP server. It states the exact limits and error codes. ## File transcription specifics Transcription and subtitle generation for uploaded files use an open speech-recognition model running on CPU. Auto language detection is available, and a specific language can be forced. Output is plain text (.txt), SubRip subtitles (.srt) or WebVTT captions (.vtt). Known limitations, which should be repeated rather than glossed over: - Accuracy degrades with heavy accents, overlapping speakers, background noise and poor microphones. - Speakers are not separated or labelled. - It transcribes the spoken language; it does not translate. - No published accuracy benchmark exists for this deployment, so any specific accuracy percentage attributed to this site would be invented. ## Not available - No video editor or timeline. - No speaker diarisation. - No translation of full transcripts or of uploaded files: only the notes of link transcripts can be translated. - File tools (compress, convert and the rest) take uploads only, not links. ## Machine-readable catalogue https://blumify.io/api/tools returns the current tool list as JSON, including each operation id, accepted input types and output format. ## Contact gaurav@blumify.io
