In this monologue, I'm going to talk about two topics because they're sort of uh running parallel right now. One is a suggestion for reservation reform Andolan and the other one is this 48 hour ultimatum that CJP I don't call them cockroach. I have another name for them that also starts with the letter C and ends with the letter A. And uh there is a very definite connect I believe between all these lumpins like congressmen and uh the CJP and also amadi party they'll unite for something and then they'll divide in case they need to divide their vote share or whatever. So first let's talk about reservation reform party. So first thing that needs to be done I think this is across the line because you have to ensure that the merit is kept at a certain level. You can't have situations where there are applicants and they are from the reservation category and because there are applicants so then what happens is you keep lowering the bar for the number of marks they get in an entrance exam to the extent that it even goes into negative territory that cannot happen so what needs to happen is I think there's already a certain number that people have arrived at I think the number is 40% or 30% below the topper number let's say that the top mark in an exam is 299 out of 300. Now, how low should the threshold be? Well, there are some metrics that Indian government has found in the past and I think it is 30% or 35% of the top number. Let's say 40%. Easy, right? 40%. 40% of 299 would come to something. You do the math, right guys? It's it's almost uh 120. Let's say 119. 119 is the cutff. Let's say there are only 20 reservation students who are crossing that 119. Then what happens to the remaining 80 seats that may be reserved? Well, those things need to go into the general category. And from the last number that made it from you just work your way down and give it to them. Now simultaneously what needs to happen is you need to have the schedule cast schedule drive the reservation category students go through some kind of a quality improvement program so that if they make this number in the next 6 months or in the next one year they can take this exam multiple times then they can qualify for the next year. this needs to happen that means that entrance exams could be taken multiple times like the way SAT is and then you decide which way this needs to be progressed. So that is as far as making sure that general category students will come in plus also making sure that a certain threshold for all courses is maintained. So that's first part. Next thing is how do you avoid people from committing suicide because they are not measuring up to a particular course. Well, this is an easy thing to solve. What you do is you put prerequisites for the so-called tough courses. If you put prerequisites, then everybody has to take that prerequisite exam. This is when the student is already enrolled in a university like an IIT. You make sure that the student actually passes the prerequisite exam. And if the student doesn't pass the prerequisite exam, that person cannot take that course until that person passes the prerequisite. Again, the same looping where they can go and prep for it and make sure that they get above that passing mark and then they can go and take that course. That makes sure that the students are ready for the grind that come as part of some courses. Some courses are easy, some courses are hard. This is the way you know especially technological courses are technological curriculum is not easy. This is the creme de creme university. So you need to make sure so this way what happens is you don't have suicides you have equitable distribution of seeds. Plus you ensure that whoever is coming in doesn't matter whether they are coming from a reserve category or general category you make sure that the quality is maintained at a certain level. I hope somebody who's uh you know watching this thing listens to these suggestions because I thought about it for a long time said I need to make sure that whatever it is that I'm suggesting sounds fair and appears to be fair and I think this is a fair way to start this we need to do something about it viewers you cannot just wish it away thinking that oh we'll just keep telling them and keep talking to them but don't do anything that's not going to work I have a feeling this is going to have an adverse effect on the UP elections and you need to make sure that the whole thing is done in such a way that I may be missing some end cases so you can think this thing through but this is the way it needs to be done have debates have people who are in educational institutions to come forward to you know debate all these proposals keep it out keep it for public you know inputs that's the way you solve this problem because that makes sure that the government is receptive and you don't have to proceed for an answer before the UP elections but if you show that effort that you are listening that will help you in a big way. Everybody has to have a say in it. Nothing wrong. Why don't you think that even somebody who's applying from a reserve category doesn't want to be at the top of his game and you need to make his or her game. You need to make sure that we give them the right opportunities. So this is as far as the reservation reforms is concerned. Now let's take a look at the CJP threat. The CJP threat is within 48 hours the chief election commissioner Ganesh Kumar needs to resign. Why? Because there was a disscent among the CEC and the two election commissioners 14 times and therefore he needs to resign. What logic is this? I don't understand. First of all, who is CJP? I mean these are a bunch of you know leftclumpins and they have no credibility here. They have no say. Even Rahul Gandhi is asking the same thing. For all of you, let me tell you how did this thing come out? It came out by way of an Indian express post. How many of you know that the work that was done was done by one person and then the credit was stolen by somebody else not based in Delhi but from Bombay and because this person in Bombay is a favorite of a certain person. What favors? I don't know. But then this person gets helicoptered into Delhi and make some sham interviews and come up with stories and the lead goes on in this person. This is called a stealing credit in journalism who owns Indian Express by the way. Did you know that after the founder passed away what's his name? I'm trying to remember the one that Gurumorti used to work for. Anyway, so all that thing happened Indian Express to the best of my knowledge split into two. One is called the Indian Express. The other one is called the new Indian Express. I believe that the new Indian Express is a little bit more inclined towards the original Indian Express. And this Indian Express is something that is again owned by a politician. A slee bag wears white smooth tongue and the sleeves bag has some people who are you know basically in positions of board and things like that. And uh I don't have to tell you more but I did put one story out as an audio tape of one such sleeves bag of this person who explained how jately fixed kit Azad okay and I don't remember which election it was 2014 or 2019 one of those things where Kit Azad lost on a BJP ticket and I think after that he decided to quit the party and uh join I think right now he's maybe in TMC he was in Congress also for some time and now I think he's in TMC But basically Indian Express has become the mouthpiece of the Congress and like this thing. I mean those of you who know about the inside workings of Indian Express can share your wisdom on who really owns this paper. But long story short, everything points to the same old ecosystem or what you know is said in that movie Kashmir files system, right? So this is what it is. There's nothing more than that. I think the government should concentrate on trying to make sure that the reservation reforms are put in place. They need to come out with the white paper and explain this is what you're going to do it. No one left behind. That's the message. Or get everybody along. Whatever you want to put a positive thing, get everyone along. Make sure that you know along the lines of what I'm suggesting you think through this thing. I mean there are a lot of smart babus who can you know take these kinds of things and make into a proper working document. Put it out for public discussion. Make sure that people understand it and they can in give their input. Have a committee you know review those things and come up and say okay this is rep two we have added these things. Have a proper design document like the way you would do it in corporation. So that v1 had these things v2 we added these things. V3 is up for release now. And this is what we're going to implement. have the country go with you. Believe me, it may be not palatable to some, but the fact that you be you were open and transparent about it and you did that extra yard will put you in goodstead. This is my two cents to the awesome two the the duo who sit and review on everything that happens in India. Namaskar.
